Vertical Greenery for the Tropics
Purpose
To promote vertical greenery within the city through advancing the understanding of this new nature-architecture hybrid.
Concept
The publication uses the results of a joint research project – “Evaluation of Vertical Greenery Systems for Building Walls” by the National Parks Board (NParks), the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and the Department of Building at the National University of Singapore (NUS) – to validate the benefits of urban greenery within tropical urban environments.
Summary of contents
The chapters outline the global/local trends and architectural examples, benefits, technical know-how, and considerations for design and maintenance in the implementation of vertical greenery in Singapore.
