Strangelets commissioned Joycelyn Shu, genius food stylist and blogger to create an installation inspired by the art of food presentation. We challenged Joycelyn to make use of traditional decorative techniques such as icing, piping, and table-arrangement on non-edible media. We asked ourselves: what can interior design learn from other arts of the interior?
Joycelyn ornamented a triptych panel by piping not confectionary icing, but construction putty—using her techniques of food ornamentation in the context of home décor. The amazing result provides the backdrop for a collage of familiar household items used in creative new ways.
An opening tea will be held with the Artist, as she describes a little bit about her installation, and what she does. She will even give some tips to those who might want to try it at home.
