Tour dates: 17 & 18 October 2009 (Saturday and Sunday)
Adult: $35 per session, Student: $30 per session (prices include GST)
In this tour, we take a look at how various types of buildings exude the power with which they are bestowed, and make their presence felt. Some buildings shout their presence from their rooftops; others are poised quietly on their strong foundations. In this tour, we explore how institutions of various kinds adapt to new architectural languages while remaining functionally relevant. We also look into buildings as disembodied shells infused with new uses. Furthermore, we see how sometimes, old is simply beautiful – and relevant.
