ArchiFest’10 is hosting an international forum on HAPPY CITIES with speakers from Australia, Denmark, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Thailand and The Netherlands.

Architects and urban planners are invited to share their perspectives on the places that best depict the notion of HAPPY CITIES, and share how and why these places have influenced their work. They will question how their creative perspectives and analyses of the topic can turn them into active contributors to this state of well-being.

  1. To me, the notion of Happy Cities is ...
  2. Which cities or urban spaces do you think, depicts the ideas of ‘happy cities’, and why?
  3. Do these aspirations influence your work?
  4. Do you think architecture can be origins of happiness and architects be creators of this state of well being, if so how?
  5. Can architecture go beyond the physical and aesthetics to create a state of well being?
  6. Do you think we should measure new developments by an alternative set of values? What values do you think are important for a happy city?
