MKPL Architects Pte Ltd Singapore
Mr Siew Man Kok set up MKPL Architects with Ms Cheng Pai Ling in 1995. Starting with small dwellings, their innovative designs saw their body of works grew – from high rise residential apartments, institutions, conservation, interior design to master planning – several through invited and open competitions. As a result, MKPL Architects have now works in Bangkok, Canada, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia and lately, South Korea. Their notable works are the Glentrees Condominium, SkyPark Apartments, a shophouse at Cuff Road as well as the Visitor’s Centre at the HortPark. Currently, they are completing a 13 storey International School in Hong Kong on an extremely challenging site. The school is likely to be referenced as a precedent on the feasibility of highrise learning environment in Singapore.
Mr Siew also found time to teach in the National University of Singapore from 1994 to 2010 as well as an examiner from 2002 to 2004. He is also contributing his time as a member of the Architectural Design Panel of HDB, a member of the Design Advisory Committee of URA and a member of the Preservation of Monument Board.
