SIA-NParks Skyrise Greenery Awards 2011

Organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and the National Parks Board (NParks), the Skyrise Greenery Awards (SGA) is into its fourth year, and aims to promote and recognise the greening of urban developments. The 2010 Awards saw increased participation from previous years, and even attracted applications from Australia, India, Malaysia, and the UAE.

The submissions are judged based on:

  1. Landscape considerations that enhance a cityscape and reflect a ‘City in a Garden aspiration with lush greenery.
  2. Creative designs that integrate the building and landscape, spotting emerging trends or setting benchmarks for future projects.
  3. Appropriate use of technology or innovative methods in the pursuit of sustainable building design with an emphasis on skyrise greenery, spotting emerging trends or setting benchmarks for future projects.
  4. Design considerations that enable social interaction and community engagement.
  5. Quality of greenery, paying particular attention to considerations such as appropriate use of plant species, enhancement of biodiversity.
  6. The participation of the 4th SGA 2011 was announced in March 2011. The award closed on 1 August 2011. Winners of the SGA2011 will be featured at the ArchiFest Exhibition.

The 2011 award winners will be announced on 3 October 2011 at the ArchiFest Opening Ceremony.
