Purpose of Details 3: Exploring Landscape, Context and Materiality by Singapore Polytechnic
10 Oct . 2–6pm . URA Function Hall . ticketed event
Issues of material, structure, tectonics and detailing are central matters that give architecture its physical vitality and permanence, and memorable architecture is designed from inside-out, with a concern for human scale and how the small components inform its overall effect.
In the work of the selected speakers, architecture is explored as a craft, and as an integral part of the natural world where the issues of sustainability and context are considered even in the smallest of detail.
The Purpose of Details 3 conference will provide rare insight into the speakers’ thinking and realisation process. This year, Singapore Polytechnic feature hospitality buildings and landscapes and develop the theme of ”Man and the Environment”. Speakers include Ho Kwon Cjan (Banyan Tree), Richard Hassell (WoHa) and Franklin Po (Tierra Design). 3 CPD points will be accredited to attendees.
